If you have students in your family, you are one of the thousands of folks planning fun things to do on spring break this week.
Doing a staycation? Let METRO help you explore the city by bus or train. From the Houston Zoo to the Museum District with 19 museums in four walkable zones to RodeoHouston, we can help you get to H-town's most popular destinations – without the stress of driving. We'll help you save money on parking and gas – and you can feel good about reducing your carbon footprint.
Figuring out which bus or train to take is easy with the METRO TRIP App. Simply download it on your smartphone, and you'll be able to find which routes to take, along with estimated arrival times. Local bus or rail is $1.25 one-way. You can buy your tickets from your smartphone and pay with debit, credit or PayPal. Kids under age five accompanied by adults ride free. Seniors 70-plus also ride free but they must come into the RideStore at 1900 Main to get a senior Q Card, or mail in an application.
We can also help you save money on entertainment with Rider Rewards. Show any fare item and get discounts from eateries along the rail, the zoo and several museums. That adds up when you're paying for a family of four or more.
Enjoy your spring break with METRO!
