Do you work for a non-profit organization or a public transportation provider?
Then you may be eligible to apply for federal grant money for programs geared toward enhancing mobility for seniors and persons with disabilities.
Grants are awarded through the Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Grant Program for the Houston Urbanized Area. METRO is the designated recipient for this program. That means the agency is responsible for the funds and their distribution for transit purposes.
Send your project proposal to METRO by Friday, Feb. 8. Electronic applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. by email. Send to email@example.com
Late submissions will not be accepted. Find the grant application here.
If you've never applied before and you're new at this, or you have any questions, you're invited to attend our pre-application workshop on Tuesday, Jan. 8. It will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at METRO's administrative building, 1900 Main St., on the sixth floor.
Please arrive by 1:45 p.m. in the second-floor lobby, and we'll escort you to the workshop. This is free and open to the public.
