How livable is your community?

If you are 65 years old or older, or a person with disabilities, please consider participating in a survey that is designed to improve your community – removing barriers, beefing up services and helping you achieve independent living in your home and community.

Take this survey at

It's sponsored by the Independent Living Research (ILRU) program at TIRR Memorial Hermann and the Houston Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities. The survey has six sections on demographics, transportation, employment, community participation, access to healthcare and independent living in homes and communities.

It will take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The principal investigator for this survey is METRO Board Member Lex Frieden, who is also professor of biomedical informatics and professor of rehabilitation at the University of Texas Health Science Center; director of ILRU at TIRR at Memorial Hermann; and professor of rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine.

Your opinion counts. So, please take the survey and let your voice be heard.
