Next week is spring break for thousands of local students – and METRO has the answer to get around town to experience our city's hot spots and sample new restaurants.
First, get a METRO Q® Fare Card at any of these retailers or our RideStore. Load it with at least $5 and then tap and go on any bus or train. Local bus and rail fare is only $1.25. Children under age 5 ride free. Students and seniors 65 and older ride for half price. Apply for your discounted Q Card here.
Riding METRO relieves you from fighting traffic, circling around the block looking for parking, saves wear and tear on your car and saves gas. If you want to drive downtown, find parking here. Then hop on METRORail. Our trains takes you to a lot of fun places, including the Museum District, Hermann Park, the Houston Zoo and Discovery Green.
Catch one of our shuttles from four locations around town and rope a ride to Rodeo Houston. Shuttles are $4 roundtrip or $6.50 roundtrip from North Shepherd Park & Ride.
You can also purchase a full-fare METRO ticket from your smart phone.
So, if you're doing a stay-cation this spring break, explore all the wonderful sights Houston has to offer – and ride METRO.
