It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Maybe this weekend it will feel a little more like Christmas, too – I hear that dropping temperatures are on the way from the North Pole. I'm recommending three events that the family can enjoy together this weekend. There's a pantomime-type theater experience, a visit to Bayou Bend for Christmas activities, and tours of some of Houston's prettiest holiday lights.
Rely on METRO to act as your sleigh and reindeer in transporting you around town to these events, as well as to your own holiday gatherings. The Trip Planner is your best source of information on which routes will take you wherever you want to go.
Let me remind you again that kids travel at half price with the student METRO Q® Fare Card – and kids age 5 and under ride free. Whatever holiday you observe at this time of year – best wishes for a joyous celebration.
Event: "Sleeping Beauty and Her Winter Knight." Theatre Under the Stars presents this interactive musical fairy tale with comedy, magic and a pop music score. It's based on a European fairy tale about Princess Aurora, who is cursed into a 100-years-long nap by an evil fairy. As you would expect, a handsome prince defeats the evil fairy and gives Aurora the kiss that wakes her. It's fun for all ages, and tickets can be purchased online.

You can get out and take pictures at each stop. Food and drink can be carried on the bus (no glass), and holiday treats will be served.
