Today's the first day of school for many students - a day of anticipation for many youngsters and a day of rejoicing for many parents who view this as a national holiday.

METRO wants to make going back to school easier for your students with extended RideStore hours.

Today and all this week, the RideStore will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can come in and get a student METRO Fare Card that allows you to load it with money – and then charges your student 50 percent off the regular fare every time your student rides.

On Saturday, Aug. 26, the RideStore will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you're a college student, you must bring the following:

  • A government-issued ID
  • A class schedule and fee receipt, or letter on school letterhead, verifying you are a full-time student.

Students from kindergarten through 12th grade must show one of the following: a current student ID, enrollment form, or a report card.

So come by the RideStore and pick up one of the best bargains in town – a student Q Card. You can also apply online or complete this form by mail.
